There are a number
of strategies that have been produced by the Government and the
NHS to drive services forward. The implementation of these strategies
will take time and effort and a firm belief that working in line
with these documents will bring benefits to all. Technology in its
many forms will underpin this, providing appropriate, accurate and
timely information.

However, technology
alone cannot make services function, we need people - people who
are able to use this technology to its best advantage. The documents
included in this Strategic Direction section are the key milestones
on this long and challenging path, but working to them will get
the best services for all.
